BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) is one car that grabs
peoples attention when its on the road or off it. The muscular exteriors of the
car are perfectly in sync with its voluminous interiors. Safety features have
always been a forte when it came to these German cars but the well tuned
suspension system makes the overall ride a less bumpy and a great on road
experience. BMW X3 Series offers only two engine options to the Indian
consumers.
Design
Agility, style and dynamism of the powerful engines of BMW X3 Series are reflected in the exteriors of the cars as well. Its whats under the bonnet that makes the car so loveable and a speed master as well. The car gets a body-coloured front bumper with integrated fog lights and some really cool headlamps. The rear end gets its set of unique taillights cluster. The four-door SAV comes with elevated seats, providing utmost comfort and luxury to its occupants.
The spacious interiors of BMW X3 Series are designed with special attention and attention is paid to the minutest of details. Space becomes the topmost priority in the SAV. However, luxury has not been compromised on. From the instrument panel and sleek wood trims to the seats, magnificence is reflected in every element of the cabin. The dashboard gets a sleek wooden finish, which is extended to the central console. The interior is upholstered in the finest Nevada leather. The elevated seats come with lumbar support, providing extra comfort for passengers.
Powertrain
BMW X3 Series comes with two engine options. The DOHC 3.0-Liter gasoline engine, in 3.0si, churns out a power of 260 hp On the other hand, the 2.5si variant is powered by 2.5L petrol engine, which delivers a power of 218 hp. The Digital Motor Electronics (DME) monitors and manages the key functions of both the engines. With that kind of power under the hood, the suspension of the car too has been worked upon, thereby making the handling of the vehicle a delight.
Handling and Safety
The next-generation Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) of the BMW X3 SAV constantly monitors wheel rotation and lateral acceleration. The system gives optimum traction, thereby improving the stability of the automobile. The unique X-Drive system automatically adapts to the terrain. Maximum traction is guaranteed even on critical road conditions, such as slippery surfaces and rough terrains.
Safety belts of BMW X3 SAV are fitted with force limiters and tensioners, which provide great restraint in the event of a collision. Rear seat occupants are protected by headrests and automatic seatbelts. The comprehensive safety program of BMW X3 also includes an airbag system. Impact Depending System inflates the airbags to the correct degree, in the event of collision. Hill Descent Control (HDC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Cornering Brake Control (CBC) are among the standard safety features of BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle.
